White Fibers - Intro to Yarn Dyeing

Dottie Weir

Sat 17
11:00 am - 2:00 pm
$75

“White Fibers” are the fiber artists’ canvas.  With dyes in the hands of the dyer, the white fibers change—they become something new and exciting.  Using the techniques of dyeing, resist dyeing and over-dyeing the dyer can create a palette of colors that will surely boggle the mind.  In this class we will not only add color but also learn how to, resist dye and over-dye to change the color first applied to the skeins of yarn.  So prepare yourself for a myriad of surprises and you will soon discover that you too can’t resist creating your own hand dyed yarn using “white fiber”.

This is an introduction class for knitters, weavers, crocheting or any fiber person wanting to create their own dyed yarns and begin to make a personal statement.

As always, if you have a specific project or just want one-on-one instruction, our teachers are available for private lessons. Cost: $25/hour.  As always, supplies purchased in conjunction with the class are discounted 15%.
