Beginning Crochet:

Learn the basics of crochet or refresh those skills you learned as a child. After learning the 4 basic stitches we will work on simple washcloths and how to read patterns.

Beginning Knitting:

Learn to learn the basic stitches of knitting and purling. Class project will be washcloths which will teach you how to use these basic stitches to make patterned knitting. By the end of class you will be ready to move on to projects like socks, hats, scarves, and even sweaters !

Dirty Martini Sweater:

Create this stunning and figure flattering sweater that uses basic stitches to create a sweater you will love to wear. A top down raglan with no seams so there is no sewing together at the end of the knitting!

Intarsia 101:

Learn the basics of the "other colorwork" technique. We will be making a sampler to learn the various ways you can use this fascinating method to create beautiful and colorful knitted pieces. This class will prepare you for two future classes we are offering, Earth and Sky shawl or Christmas stocking.

Fix a Mistake:

Tired of coming to the shop to have one of us fix those mistakes or dropped stitches? Come learn how to do it yourself in a controlled supportive environment. Homework required: you will be knitting a swatch with a variety of "mistakes" to fix before class.

Continental Knitting:

Want to speed up your knitting? Do that fancy two stranded knitting with both hands?! Or just wow your knitting buddies with a new skill? Learn to knit continental! In one session we will teach you the basics to tension and knit with your left hand. With a bit of practice you will become a picker as well as a thrower and still be grinning.

Keep those toes warm with some nice hand-knit wool socks! You'll learn basic top down sock construction with worsted weight yarn so you'll see progress fast and not have to fiddle with tiny yarn and tiny needles.

Take this class and dive into the world of afterthought heels. This method is also great if you tend to wear out heels faster than the rest of the sock. Just take the heel out and knit another one!

Toe: Mitten Toe

Not a fan of Kitchener Stitch? The Mitten Toe may just be for you. Fitting like a standard toe, it's decreases come all the way down to just 8 stitches before shifting the direction of the graft so that it is perpendicular to the decreases. Intrigued?

Sock of the Quarter: Cheshire Cat

Are you mad as a March Hare about socks? Take a journey down the rabbit hole with these fun and funky socks. Starting at the heel, this sock is unlike any sock you've ever seen. Knit in fun striping yarn (or get wild with a contrasting heel!), these socks feature a simple cable up the front of the foot. Students should be comfortable with increasing and short rows to conquer these socks.

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at dyeing? Here's your opportunity! The amazing colorist and designer, Dottie Weir will be teaching us about colors, dyeing, and how fiber takes the color. You will have the opportunity to create your own dyed sock blank that you can knit from directly for a one-of-a-kind cowl or even Socks.

As always, if you have a specific project or just want one-on-one instruction, our teachers are available for private lessons. Cost: $25/hour
