Easter is coming!!!! Would EWE like to add a little whimsy to your Easter fun this year? Are EWE interested in learning to knit small circumferences in the round using double point needles? Would EWE like to make colorwork socks or mitts? If the answer is yes to these questions, this class is for EWE! We will be learning to knit in the round on DPNs and do a little stranded colorwork. These chickens are a fun way to learn new techniques! You will need to purchase the pattern on Ravelry, and will require approximately 120 yards of yarn in two contrasting colors. Yarn weight is not crucial, but will affect the size of your finished chicken. DK and worsted weight minis would be perfect! You will also need double point needles in a size smaller than recommended for your yarn.

This is not a first sweater class. One of our favorite sweaters right now is the Felix by Amy Christoffers, featuring an easy to wear boxy fit, roomy crew neck, and a deceptively easy lace raglan. Together we will use the skills you’ve learned from previous sweaters and build on them with techniques like German Short Rows, optional Tubular cast on/bind off, lace raglan detailing, and a discussion on optional body shaping! This pattern is available on Ravelry for $7 and is written for 5 sizes with finished bust measurements ranging from 39”- 57”. As this is not a beginner sweater class, students should have the ability to split for the sleeves on their own. Please complete a gauge swatch prior to class, including washing, blocking, & measuring! Bring this swatch with you to the first class. Pattern recommends an Aran weight yarn and a US 10, US 8, and US 5 circular needles. Use any yarn and needle combination that allows you to get gauge with a fabric you enjoy! Other materials needed: stitch markers, Knitting Barber Cords or extra cables to hold sleeve stitches, row counter, and a tapestry needle.
