June Classes

Beginning Knitting:
Sat. 9, 16, 23, 30
10:00 - 12:00
Learn to learn the basic stitches of knitting and purling. Class project will be washcloths which will teach you how to use these basic stitches to make patterned knitting. By the end of class you will be ready to move on to projects like socks, hats and scarves, even sweaters.

Beginning Crochet:
Wed. 6, 13, 20
4:30 - 6:30
Learn the basics of crochet or refresh those skills you learned as a child. After learning the 4 basic stitches we will work on simple washcloths and how to read patterns.

Open Help Session:
Sat. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30
5:00 - 7:00
$10/session attended
Need help on a project and there is no class scheduled for that problem. Or need some help but don't need the chaos of the shop? This may be your answer. This two hour session is after closing on Saturday and WW is there to help with your questions on projects. Not one-on-one but a quiet and supportive environment and pay when you come for help. Open to all levels.

Dream Bird Shawl:

You have asked for it and now it is here! WW will be teaching the techniques to knit the Dreambird shawl. This dramatic and beautiful pattern uses German short rows to create the beautiful feather design. A great project for the summer and if you have finished the Butterfly/Papillion a great next project to use the skills you learned.

Beginning Socks:

Want to learn how to knit socks but "sock" yarn is too scary? These beginner socks are knit with worsted weight yarn and size 4 needles. These socks are knit top-down with a traditional heel flap and gusset. Directions for Magic-loop, double-points, and 2 circulars will be available. Choose whichever method you would be comfortable with.

Filet Crochet:

Learn how to use mesh and double crochet to create designs in your work. Filet crochet can be used in blankets, doilies, scarves, pretty much anything. In this class we will make a simple scarf. This class will be a great primer for doing a larger, more ambitious project.

Toe Up Socks - Fidget Socks by Amy Stringer

Using fingering weight yarn and a simple stitch pattern, you will learn how to knit (and fit) socks from the toe to the cuff.

Sock of the Quarter - Hattu by Nicola Susen:

Tired of "vanilla" socks? These fun and funky socks should add some spice to your knitting. These socks are knit from the cuff to the toe.

Dye Your Own Sock Blank with Dottie Weir:

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at dying? Here's your opportunity! The amazing colorist and designer, Dottie Weir will be teaching us about colors, dyeing, and how fiber takes the color. You will have the opportunity to create your own dyed sock blank that you can knit from directly for a one-of-a-kind cowl or even Socks.

As always, if you have a specific project or just want one-on-one instruction, our teachers are available for private lessons. Cost: $25/hour
