August Gladiolus Socks 

Date - Monday 6th, 13th, and 27th

Time - 10:30 - 12:30 pm

Cost - $60 plus supplies

Prerequisites - Must be confident with knit/purl, and magic loop.

Limited to 4 people per class

Materials needed:

Yarn - 400 yards of fingering weight yarn

Needles - size 1.5 32" circular for magic loop (adjust your needle size as necessary to get correct gauge)

Notions - tapestry needle

Pattern - August Gladiolus Socks, Fish Lip Kiss Heel

Gauge - 8 stitches and 10 rows = 1"

Skills Learned - Turkish Cast On, Fish Lips Kiss Heel, Cable Bind Off, increasing/decreasing, and how to make your sock the perfect size for you!

Learn some new techniques as you knit August Gladiolus Socks pattern from the toe up!

Building in Color Blanket Panel 1 

Date - Monday 6th or 11th

Time - 1:00 - 3:00 pm

Cost - $20 per month,  plus supplies

Prerequisites - Cast on/ bind off, knit, purl.

Limited to 5 students per class.

Materials needed:

Yarn - 936 yards of three colors each worsted weight yarn.  A total of 2,808 yards.

Needles - size 6  24" and 40" circular

Book - Building in Color

Notions - tapestry needle, stitch markers, sticky notes or highlighter tape, cable needle for panel #9, counter (optional)

Gauge -  22 stitches and 32 rows= 4" in stockinette stitch.

Panel Size - 5" wide and 36" long

Finished size blanket - 40" by 54"

Skills learned - Intarsia, Embroidery,  Joining a new color, Double ended knitting,  Short rows, Knit below, Make one purl, Elongated stitch,  Mosaic knitting, Butterfly stitch, Intarsia cable, Tuck stitch,  Borders.

Building in Color introduces new stitches and techniques along with discovering color knitting. Each panel is designed to build your confidence while managing multiple yarns in creating your blanket. So let's have some fun while creating a masterpiece.

Materials needed-

Yarn - 1,400 yards of  worsted weight yarn. You can do a solid color blanket or  get a different color for each block! Endless possibilities!

Needles - size 9 24" circular

Book - Building Blocks

Notions - tapestry needle, stitch markers, sticky notes or highlighter tape, cable needle, counter (optional)

Gauge - 4 stitches and 5  rows= 1" in stockinette stitch.

Block size - 12"x 12"

Building Blocks is perfect for beginning knitters to broaden their  skills. Every pattern in Building Blocks focuses on the development of a skill while knitting a fabulous square. Each block gives you a new technique to master. By the time you complete all 12 blocks you will have more confidence and knowledge in your knitting, as well as a beautiful blanket to show off!

Have a spinning wheel that you don't know how to use? Bring it with you and learn to ply two different colored commercial yarns together before making a single strand of yarn with roving wool. Learn the parts, proper maintenance, and storage of your wheel. Take home a beautiful skein of your own unique yarn.

Knitalong Socks 101 -

Date - Wednesday 15th

Time - 11:00 - 1:00 pm

Cost - $30 plus materials

Ready to jump into sock knitting or want to learn how to magic loop socks? This pattern calls for one skein of 100% bulky wool yarn and size 10.5 needles (a 40" cable needle for magic loop). If you do not own the book Knitalong, you must buy it. Skill level is intermediate and you must know how to knit and purl. By the end of the class we should have one sock finished!

Beginner Socks

Date - Sunday 12th, 19th, 26th

Materials needed -

Yarn - 200 yards worsteeight

Needles - size 4 32” or 40”

Prerequisites - Knit, purl

Learn how to knit your own socks from the cuff down to the toe. Using thicker yarn and bigger needles, these will get you used to the construction of socks before you move on to smaller needles and smaller yarn.

Beginning Knitting:

Date:  Tuesday, August 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th

Time:  6 - 8 pm

Learn to learn the basic stitches of knitting and purling. Class project will be washclothes which will teach you how to use these basic stitches to make patterned knitting. By the end of class you will be ready to move on to projects like socks, hats and scarves, even sweaters. 

Beginning Crochet:

Date:  Saturday,  Aug 11th,  18th, 25th

Time:  10 - 12 pm

Cost:   $60 

Learn the basics of crochet or refresh those skills you learned as a child. After learning the 4 basic stitches we will work on simple washclothes and how to read patterns. 

Open Help Session:

Date:  Saturday,  Aug 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th

Time:  5 - 7 pm

Cost:  $10/session attended 

Need help on a project and there is no class scheduled for that problem. Or need some help but don't need the chaos of the shop? This may be your answer. This two hour session is after closing on Saturday and WW is there to help with your questions on projects. Not one-on-one but a quiet and supportive environment and pay when you come for help. Open to all levels. 

Tired of purling or want to see if you can speed up your knitting by not having to turn when knitting flat. This technique class is to teach you the methods of backward or mirror knitting so you end a row then work backwards without turning our work. Some homework required.
